Sessions typically take place in beautiful outdoor locations in Markham. Additional locations are possible but travel fees may apply. I have a gorgeous guide of location options with images from previous sessions so you can get a sense of the locations and choose which one suits you best.

Light is extremely important to photography. All full sessions take place during the golden hour (around sunrise or sunset) for a chance at that gorgeous, soft, golden flattering light. The premium sunset sessions are largely reserved for my longer sessions.
The specific time changes season to season but here is a general guide:
Summer (June, July, August) sunrise 7:30am - 8:30am // sunset 7:00pm - 9:00pm
Early Fall (September) sunrise 7:30am - 8:30am // sunset 6:00pm - 7:30pm
Late Fall (October / November) sunrise 8:00am - 10am // sunset 4:00 - 6:00pm
Winter (Late November - March) sunset 2:30pm - 4:00pm
Your session would fall somewhere in this time frame depending on your session length, the date and how the light is falling. I can’t guarantee golden light for your session but I can do everything in my power to increase our chances.

Preparing for Your Session
-
if you like bring
a simple blanket (neutral in color - please no hot pink)
favorite treats or snack
a surprise or gift for your child
But largely, I would keep it simple. You want to feel unencumbered. My aim is to create timeless portraits that are natural, joyful and pure, and I've found that keeping it simple allows for real moments, expressions and interactions. In fact, the less you bring - the more free you are to play.
-
I hate forcing people to pose in awkward and uncomfortable ways - all you get with that is inauthentic stage photos and that’s not my style. Instead, my sessions tend to be very relaxed and carefree. The strongest images are created when you and your loved ones spend time together interacting in a loving way. My sessions tend to be light, fun, playful - if you are enjoying yourself, I can capture more natural beautiful moments.

Item description

If you are late, you will be cutting into your session time (my schedule is quite tight in my busy season and I often book back to back sessions). Please plan ahead and allow yourself extra and ample time to perfect your wardrobe, style yourself, tend to your children, travel and find parking and orient yourself. I arrive to all my sessions 15 minutes early and encourage you to do so. Not only is it so appreciated and respectful, it will help you to feel more relaxed and less rushed. This will ultimately help us get the most out of our session together and lead to more beautiful photos.
-
If you have to cancel or reschedule your session, please get in touch as early as possible and I will try my best to accommodate you. As a reminder, your deposit fee is non-refundable.
After Our Session Together
-
I select the best images from our session together and lovingly retouch each image that ends up in your gallery. I like my images to look and feel natural and timeless as possible. Retouching includes color correction, minor blemish removal, skin softening, cropping, lens correction, and sharpening to enhance the look and feel of the image.
More extensive retouching services is available but at an additional cost as I would send your files to a professional retoucher.
-
It takes typically up to 2 weeks for me to edit your images after our session together (please allow up to 3 weeks during my peak season from May-Dec). You will get an email when your gallery is ready.
Rush delivery is available if you need your gallery within 48 hours, however there is a rush fee of $50-100 depending on the session size.
-
You will receive a beautiful private, password protected and personalized online gallery of digital files. You will receive the number of images defined by the package you have chosen (not more or less) and each image has been carefully chosen and lovingly retouched by me.
After the images have been delivered, please download your images. You are encouraged to back up your images to a safe space as once delivered, they are now yours to take care of. Feel free to use them for any personal use.
-
I offer a wide range of keepsakes including print enlargements, albums, canvases, and more. If you would like to see samples of what we offer, to hold them and feel them for yourself, we can also set up a design meeting. There is nothing I like more than sharing a coffee and talking about photography treasures.

Other Helpful Tips
Mother & Child Sessions
When your children look at your photos, will they see you? Will they understand your connection? That mother-child bond is unlike any other and will change overtime. It is special and worthy of documentation.
More Authentic Family Photographs
All the things that make children so incredible to photograph rarely occur when they are sitting still and asked to smile big for the camera, pose and say “cheeese”.
I don’t want “sit still” and I don’t want “well-behaved” (what fun is well behaved anyway?). These aren’t passport photos. For really happy photos, you need real happiness… and that comes from freedom and play.
