Road Trips Across Canada

In 2011, my husband and I took our first road trip across Canada. We were on the road for 21 days and covered over 19,000km, journeying west to Tofino in British Columbia and then north to Tuktoyaktuk in the North West Territories. In the years that followed, we did an additional six road trips together to explore more of this beautiful country. These travels through Canada lead us to many unforgettable life experiences and unreal photographic experiences which helped me deepen my understanding of the art and craft of photography. We encountered and documented countless Canadian mammals and bird species including black bears, grizzly bears, elk, prong horn sheep, caribou, bison, deer, wolves, coyote, fox, eagles, hawks, owls, mountain goat, sheep, porcupine, seal and more.

The wild landscapes of western Canada left a deep imprint and the summer of 2019 brought me to Vancouver Island in British Columbia to teach Photography at North Island College. More than anything, these trips shaped me as a person who is endlessly inspired by the natural world and always eager to challenge myself and dive into the unknown. We are currently planning our eighth trip in Canada for 2021 and hope to continue to explore this country for the rest of our lives. There is nothing I enjoy more than being outdoors, exploring, with my camera.
